Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using the Well Versed mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

Well Versed is an iOS application designed to provide an ad-free, private Scripture reading experience accompanied by educational study tools:

• Reading public domain Bible translations (including BSB, KJV, WEB, and Douay-Rheims).
• Exploring interactive ancient maps and historical biblical geography.
• Viewing biblical figures, biographies, and ancestral lineages from Abraham to Jesus.
• Exploring Scripture Connections, prophecy fulfillments, and Gospel parallels.
• AI-assisted biblical study reflections tailored by age mode and Christian theological tradition.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Well Versed independently. Individuals under 13 years of age may use the App with parental consent and guidance. By using Well Versed, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Tiers & Subscriptions

Free Tier

Well Versed provides free access to all core Bible reading features, offline translations, maps, and figures. For artificial intelligence study assistance, the free tier includes 7 cloud requests per day via Google Gemini, or unlimited on-device requests on supported Apple Intelligence hardware.

Supporter Subscription

Users may optionally purchase a Supporter subscription ($4.99/month) to expand their daily cloud query allowance to 77 requests per day and support ongoing independent app development.

Billing & Cancellation

• Subscriptions are billed to your Apple ID account upon purchase confirmation.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours prior to the end of the active billing period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
• Apple does not provide partial refunds for unused billing periods. All refund requests are subject to Apple Media Services Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Well Versed solely for lawful, personal study purposes. You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App software or database structures.
• Deploy automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to extract data or query the AI services.
• Circumvent or tamper with daily query quotas or subscription verification systems.
• Use the App to generate abusive, defamatory, or unlawful content.

5. AI Content Disclaimer

Well Versed integrates artificial intelligence models (Apple Foundation Models and Google Gemini) as supplemental study companions. While the App is designed to provide thoughtful biblical reflections:

• AI-generated text may occasionally contain factual errors, misinterpretations, or theological inaccuracies.
• AI responses do not constitute church dogma, authoritative religious doctrine, or pastoral care.
• The App is not a substitute for guidance from ordained clergy, religious counselors, or professional medical, legal, or psychological advisors.
• Users are encouraged to verify scriptural questions with their local faith community and original authoritative texts.

6. Religious Data & Pass-Through Architecture

We respect the confidentiality of your spiritual life. The developer operates Well Versed as a pass-through service. We do not store your prayer queries, theological preferences, or reading habits on any central server, nor do we construct user profiles from your questions.

7. Intellectual Property

The Bible translations included in the App are verified public domain or freely licensed texts. The App interface, application code, visual styling, curated historical databases, and custom map layers are the property of the developer and protected under intellectual property laws.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Well Versed is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or entirely secure.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the App in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to liability.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of Texas, without giving effect to conflict of law principles.
